Vacancy Details

BEL has released 350 vacancies for the position of Probationary Engineer:

• Electronics Department: 200 vacancies
• Mechanical Department: 150 vacancies

Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

Candidates must hold a degree in B.E./B.Tech/B.Sc Engineering in relevant disciplines from AICTE-approved colleges. The required disciplines are:

• Electronics / Electronics and Communication
• Electronics & Telecommunication / Communication
• Telecommunication / Mechanical

Age Limit

The maximum age limit for unreserved candidates is 25 years as of 01/01/2025. Age relaxation is applicable as per government norms for reserved categories.

Application Fee

• General/EWS/OBC (NCL): Rs. 1000 + GST (Rs. 1180)
• SC/ST/PwBD/ESM: No fee

The application fee must be paid online during the application process.

Selection Process

The selection process consists of three stages:

1. Computer-Based Test (CBT): 85 marks
2. Interview: 15 marks
3. Medical Examination

Candidates will be shortlisted for the interview based on their performance in the computer-based test.

Exam Pattern

The BEL Probationary Engineer Exam is a computer-based test with the following structure:

• Total Questions: 125
  • 100 questions from technical subjects
  • 25 questions from General Aptitude and Reasoning
• Duration: 120 minutes
• Marking Scheme: 1 mark per question, 1/4 mark deducted for each incorrect answer
• Language: English and Hindi
